Lifeguard Course
At the YMCA, we believe in training rescue personnel to be ready for anything. With our 3-day long course, future guards will receive the tools they need to handle any emergency, in and out of the pool.
Includes two-year American Red Cross CPR/AED and First Aid certification. Students must attend all classes in the course to pass.

Additional Prerequisites:
Must be 15 years of age, be able to swim a non-stop 300m (freestyle and breaststroke), retrieve a 10 lb. brick from the bottom of the pool, tread water for two minutes using the legs only, and complete a timed event involving a swim sprint, brick retrieval, and pool exit.
